The Impact of Paid Family Leave on Child Maltreatment
The United States is among the few developed countries without a national paid family leave policy. But four states have long had local leave policies in place: California, New Jersey, New York and Rhode Island. Dr. Jenny Tanis of the Hope College School of Social Work and Dr. Sacha Klein of the Michigan State University School of Social Work wanted to see what impact this had on infant maltreatment in those states compared to trends in other states.
Guest Interview
Sacha Klein is an associate professor at the Michigan State University School of Social Work and an expert on child welfare, child maltreatment prevention, effects of early care and education on parenting. Jenny Tanis is an assistant professor at the Hope College School of Social Work.
