The Trump administration has scrapped a Biden-era test of new approaches to TANF, and will issue a new pilot project of its own

  Sen. Bob Casey (D-Penn.) and several Democrat co-sponsors have added to the legislation piling up this session to help grandparents and other relatives caring for the children of loved ones.

President Donald Trump released his 2020 spending proposal, dubbed “A Budget for a Better America,” late last week. On Monday, the Office of Management and Budget and various cabinet agencies released the fine print.

In short order, the former state senator has proposed added funding for the Department of Children and Families (DCF), hired a new leader for the agency and has high hopes for addressing the concerns brought forth in a class action lawsuit filed against the state late last year.

The Trump administration has been slow to nominate people to the top tiers of leadership that require Senate confirmation. But at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), it has begun to plug in some new hires among agencies serving youth and families.
