Shannon Mickle is a 23-year-old woman who experienced homelessness, abuse/neglect, foster care, and the juvenile justice system in Lee County, Florida from ages 15-18. Mickle received a master’s degree in social work from Florida Gulf Coast University. Mickle also has a 3-year-old son who is her world. Mickle currently works full time as a medical social worker for the Department of Veteran Affairs.
