Sage Desai is a healthcare professional and foster advocate whose work bridges science, culture, and human connection. With interdisciplinary foundations in psychology, criminal justice, and Indigenous studies, they approach health and medicine through both analytical and compassionate lenses. Their research explores biomedical science and kinesiology while integrating behavioral and social analysis with Indigenous and foster perspectives. As a former foster youth, Desai is deeply committed to advocacy and mentorship. They host restorative circles, advise students, and lead educational programs for foster youth across Minnesota — creating spaces grounded in dignity, belonging, and trust. Guided by lived experience and cultural understanding, Desai works to strengthen systems of care that honor individuality, resilience, and interconnection. Their goal is to bring an integrative and culturally responsive approach to medicine—one that unites evidence-based practice with empathy, equity, and human understanding. Through this lens, Desai continues to explore how science and story together can advance collective healing and compassionate care.
