Kristina Hanson

Kristina Hanson was adopted from Russia at the age of 8 and lived with her adoptive family until she turned 15. Her childhood with her adoptive parents was challenging, compounded by mental health issues that led to a suicide attempt. Subsequently, Hanson was admitted to an inpatient treatment facility where she stayed until she was 17. Despite working on herself during this time, the relationship with Hanson's parents remained strained, prompting her transition into foster care. During her senior year of high school, Hanson attended a new school and then transitioned into college a year and a half later while remaining in long-term foster care to access available benefits. Fast forward to today, Hanson has been living independently in the Twin Cities for over six years. For the past three years, Hanson has worked as a private chef, a role that brings joy. Currently, Hanson is back in school with about three semesters left before completing her bachelor's degree in marketing. While finalizing the details, Hanson's goal is to leverage her degree to gain industry experience and eventually launch her own company after graduation.
