April Miller is a second-generation foster youth on both sides of her biological family, an experience that shaped not only her childhood but also the person she’s become. Miller is both a social worker and a kinship parent, roles that allow her to transform her lived experience into purpose. As a social worker, Miller stands beside families navigating hardships, helping them find stability and hope in moments that can feel overwhelming. As a kinship parent, Miller has opened her home and heart to a child within her extended family, providing the safety and love she once longed for herself. What drives her is the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported, not just to survive, but to thrive. Miller's journey is proof that cycles can be broken, healing is possible, and that sometimes the very struggles that test us the most can become the source of our greatest strength.
